Christmas Tradition of Adventure
We chose for our Christmas Adventure the salmon breeding, eagle feeding Nooksack River bed where we rockhopped and hiked as we counted dozens of eagles and checked out cool ice formations in the rocks. Hayden threw rock after rock into a small sidecreek. Every single time rock hit water he would exclaim, “PLOP!” with a huge grin on his face.
Our grumbling tummies brought us to Graham’s in Glacier for toasted bagel sandwiches. Then, we continued our path up to Mount Baker to take Hayden for some high-speed tandem sledding.
Pumped from his day of high adventure and promises that Santa Claus was coming tonight, Hayden serenaded us the entire trip back down the mountain with his version of Jingle Bells which goes something like this; “Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, HEY!” Repeat, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat… you get the picture.
