Wednesday Nighters Are BACK!
Last night marked the return of the much-loved, heavily relied-upon, painful-for-most (this time of year, anyway), but truly THE staple of all Bellingham racers’ training diet: The Weekly Wednesday Night 3.5-mile Race on Lake Whatcom, out of Bloedel Donovan Park.
The weather was invitingly warm, calm and clear for this time of year in the Pac NW, and the turn-out was the best ever for the season’s first race! All the usual suspects were there, swinging double and single blades alike.
In talking afterward, Heather and I both agreed it was awesome to feel the race muscles re-ignite as they clawed themselves out of winter hibernation. With Ski to Sea just over 2 months away, the journey to peak race-readiness has officially begun!!!
